90-92 There are three barrels of the 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Chenevery, a deep, saturated wine that wafts from the glass with notes of cherries, rose petal and sweet spices. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with rich structuring tannins, good concentration and tangy balancing acids. There’s sufficient substance to suggest it will age with style.

90-92 The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Chenevery 1er Cru is completely de-stemmed and matured in mainly used oak. It has a tightly wound bouquet that feels bashful compared to the other crus. The medium-bodied palate offers grainy tannin, a mixture of black and red fruit and a tangible sense of energy on the focused, very Morey finish. Excellent.

88-91 Here too there is background application of wood that easily allows the riper aromas of cassis, black raspberry liqueur and freshly turned earth scents to be appreciated. There is good energy if not necessarily density to the delicious barely middle weight flavors that also possess a sleek mid-palate texture yet the grippy finish is compact and slightly short. This is a bit more complex than the La Riotte and the length may improve as the supporting tannins begin to resolve.
