The 2024 Beaujolais-Villages Wild Soul includes 4.5 hectares of Régnié and, for the first time, some declassified Morgon and Fleurie, so that it is effectively entirely Beaujolais Cru in all but name. This is matured only in 3,000-litre foudres, with 10mg/L of SO2 added just prior to bottling, without filtration. It has an open and expressive bouquet with cranberry and touches of tomato vine, very well defined and complex for a Beaujolais-Villages, a little ferrous in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very poised and transparent, with a tensile and quite persistent finish. Excellent.

From the ever-creative and driven Julien Sunier comes this "anytime red" , as he fondly refers to it. Wild Soul, like most of Sunier's fruit, is farmed and harvested at high altitude (400m), resulting in freshness, aromatic vibrancy, a lythe presence on the palate, and endless pleasure.
