A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot, the 2015 La Dame de Montrose has a deep garnet color. It is a little broody to start, soon revealing earthy expressions of charcoal, black truffles, and mossy tree bark, over a core of blackcurrant pastilles, wild blueberries, and black raspberries. Medium-bodied, the mouth is coated with red and black berry layers, laced with dried herb accents, and structured by approachable, chewy tannins, finishing with plenty of length and freshness.
