Aromas of strawberries and orange peel with hints of flowers and bark. Medium-bodied with firm, tight tannins that give it tension and muscle. Exciting and flexing. Wow. Very expressive. One of the best Wendlings I have had. Give this three to five years. Best after 2027.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Wendling Vineyard Block E unfolds dramatically with air, transitioning from red and black cherry to detailed wafts of licorice, tea leaves, hibiscus and orange peel. The medium-bodied palate is pure and layered, unfolding additional nuances as it flows through the mouth. It’s framed by barely there, dusty tannins and bright acidity, and it has a long, perfumed finish. It will benefit from time in the cellar. 590 cases were made.
