Light to medium amber color. Perfumed jasmine, dried apricot, persimmon and passion fruit characters. A hint of resin and turmeric. Really full and broad on the palate with a mouthful of caressing, small-grained tannins that give it a bold, powerful structure. Really long and bone-dry finish. Drink or hold.

Vinous Media

A deep golden color, the 2020 Ribolla Opoka Medana Jama Cru lifts from the glass with a wickedly fresh bouquet of minty herbs, chlorophyll, hints of ginger and crushed green apples. This sweeps across the palate with racy textures and tart orchard fruits, taking on further tension as a liquid floral concentration coats the senses. The 2020 finishes grippy and structured, with admirable length and a salty mineral tinge that lingers on. The Opoka Medana displays amazing complexity. It's easily one of the most serious Ribolla Giallas I've tasted in recent years.

Winery Notes

An impressive aromatic expression of orange blossom, spice, wild herbs, and peach fruit. The palate is intense and sapid, pure and bright, with ripe peach notes, orange zest, and a touch of spice, underscored by a mineral core and superfine tannins. A wine with a long life ahead of it too. Food matching ideas: A perfect pairing with white meat, herbed grilled fish, walnut and blue cheese pasta, lightly spiced curries.
