Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The 2019 Terrasea Santorini was aged for four months in an equal mixture of stainless steel and used French oak. It comes in with 2.8 grams of residual sugar, 6.8 of total acidity and 13.1% alcohol. This is the only wine, says the producer, made on the island of Therasia, which is part of Santorini. (The name “Mikra Thira” means “small Santorini.”) This is a bit different than the regular Santorini from the producer in this report, a little flinty, but it’s more expressive and less monolithic. This certainly projects a lot more flavor, and it was easily my preference between the two for that reason, at least today. The Terrasea seemed riper than that 13.1% alcohol would suggest. That said, the question here will be whether the difference in style and/or quality justifies almost doubling the price from the regular Santorini. A $58 price tag is a formidable price for a bottle of wine. Another $50 on top of that gets to even more rarified air.
They are so different that I would say their styles should govern your choice rather than perceived value or qualitative differences, assuming you can afford the big price spike. This should hold for the rest of the decade if all goes according to expectation. We’ll see in time; there are some things to prove here. There were 1,800 bottles produced in this second vintage.

What makes Assyrtiko unique is its resilience; it can withstand high temperatures and strong winds, conditions that are challenging for most grape varieties. The grape's ability to retain acidity even in intense heat contributes to the longevity and age-worthiness of Assyrtiko wines, which can develop richer flavors and complex aromas with time.

The ancient Greeks revered and deified wine, and were the first true innovators in the history of wine, adding everything from seawater to honey and spices in order to find exciting new taste combinations and aromas. Today, Greek wines are just as varied, although far more refined and sophisticated than their ancient counterparts. The practice of enhancing Greek wines with aromatic substances never left the country, though, as can be seen in the popular Retsina wines, which use pine resin to provide their unique taste and aroma combinations. There is far more to Greek wine than merely Retsina, however, and the vast variety on offer is a testament to the expertise of Greek wineries making the most of the wonderful climate, terrain and grape varietals they work with.
