Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. Here, in the home of the world's finest wines, the type and quality of grapes used is of utmost importance, and the legendary wineries which work on the banks of the Gironde river have mastered the careful art of juice blending to find the perfect balance for their produce. Whilst there are six 'official' Bordeaux grapes, the two key varietals for almost every fine Bordeaux wine are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and with good reason. Ripe currants, cassis, graphite, leafy herbs, and smoky notes all emerge from the 2022 Pavillon De Léoville Poyferré, a full-bodied, rich, layered mouth-filling second wine that has ripe tannins, terrific overall balance, and a great finish. Based on 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, coming primarily from younger vines, it should keep nicely through 2042.

Lovely wild blackberries, liquorice and dark chocolate aromas on the nose. Smooth and succulent, this has bite and tang - the fine tannins giving a powdery mouthfeel while the juicy acidity adds freshness to the ripe bramble fruit. Crushed stones, mint and slate come through towards the finish adding a mineral touch with soft oak spices adding another layer of complexity. Quietly powerful, but balanced and harmonious with a finessed feel.

The 2022 Pavillon de Léoville-Poyferré is bold and explosive in the glass. A heady second wine, Pavillon packs a pretty serious punch. Dark red-toned fruit, gravel, licorice, incense and chocolate show the extroverted side of the vintage. Ripeness is definitely on the pushed side, while the tannins are pretty imposing, especially for a second wine.

This is the second wine of Léoville-Poyferré, made largely on the basis of terroir, including parcels in the west, or to the north on the border of the Pauillac appellation, this is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, and the élevage was in used oak, all second fill, for 18 months. Aromatically it presents a pure, perfumed, peach, chalk and mint perfume, with touches of orange peel and cranberry too. The palate is charming, quite light-footed, open and loosely composed, with a modest texture for the vintage, riven with fine seams of tannin, which support the palate and persist into a lightly grained, peppery finish. A good second wine which will drink well, with elegant confidence, although I think I prefer the impact of Moulin Riche more in this vintage. Tasted three times. The alcohol on the label is 14%.
