There are few countries in the world with a viticultural history as long or as illustrious as that claimed by Italy. Of course, it was the rise of the Roman Empire which had the most lasting influence on wine production in Italy, and their influence can still be felt today, as much of the riches of the empire came about through their enthusiasm for producing wines and exporting it to neighbouring countries. Since those times, a vast amount of Italian land has remained primarily for vine cultivation, and thousands of wineries can be found throughout the entire length and breadth of this beautiful country, drenched in Mediterranean sunshine and benefiting from the excellent fertile soils found there. Italy remains very much a 'land of wines', and one could not imagine this country, its landscape and culture, without it.

The 2023 Toscana Rosso Hebo opens with an herbal-laced bouquet of rose petals, cherries and wet stones. It’s soft and round, with fresh acidity and a cascade of citrus-infused red berry fruit. Long yet gentle and spry, the 2023 leaves blue and purple inner florals along with a pretty inner freshness that lingers. This is primarily Merlot with a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc.

The elegant Hebo Suvereto by Petra glides into the glass with bright crimson. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of shadow morale, mulberry, black cherry and plum, rounded off by gingerbread spice, black tea and bitter chocolate, which contributes to the ageing in the wooden barrel.
