The 2021 Touriga Franca feels more austere, balanced and serious than the Touriga Nacional. It’s showy and ripe, in the style of the turn of the century, with 14.5% alcohol and generous spice, toast and smoke from the 18 months it spent in French barriques, 85% of them new. 4,610 bottles, 150 magnums and 30 double magnums produced. It’s aging slowly. It was bottled in January 2024.
