Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.

Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. The name of this grape, meaning 'blood of Jove' conjures up evocative images of long dead civilizations, and gives the Sangiovese varietal a sense of the holy, the sacred, the special. Indeed, this particular type of Italian grape has been cultivated and processed for thousands of years, and is said to be the original favorite grape varietal of the Romans, and the Etruscans before them. Throughout history, vintners have continued to plant this varietal, and they continue to produce wonderful wines to this day. The long bunches of very dark, round fruit are treasured by fine wineries in Italy and a few other places around the world, and when young, these grapes are lively – full of strawberry flavors and a little spiciness. However, it is when they are aged in oak that they take on some truly special flavors and aromas, as seen in some of the finest wines of the Old World.

What a beauty; the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna La Casa bursts from the glass with a beguiling mix of exotic spice, balsam herbs, crushed ashen stones and dried black cherries. It washes across the palate with a silken wave of ripe dark fruits complemented by hints of licorice and cocoa. Fine-grained tannins frame the finish, as residual acids keep the mouth watering, and hints of plum fade under an air of violet inner florals. This is a radiant rendition of La Casa, which is a vineyard located on the crest of the Montosoli hill, facing the town of Montalcino.

The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna La Casa is born in a beautiful vineyard with long vistas and warm sunsets. This production of 14,000 bottles ages in oak for two years. You definitely taste the sweet spice and cinnamon from the barrel aging, but the wine also presents a good amount of dark fruit and plum. It ends with soft tannins and even a hint of oaky sweetness that underlines its accessibility. Some 14,000 bottles were made.

Winemaker Massimo Bracalente says that Caparzo’s holdings in Montosoli were spared botrytis in 2018. Situated on well-draining Galestro soil, its south- to southeast-facing plots are largely protected from late season mists. Harvested between 24 and 25 September, La Casa demonstrates considerable ripeness for the vintage without tipping the balance. It leads with mature aromas of coffee, cherry compote and sweet tobacco. Luxurious, supple fruit flavours absorb oak nuances of nutmeg and vanilla, and pad out chocolatey, chewy tannins. Full and flattering, this has easy-going appeal.

The 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino Vigna La Casa is amplified with a sheen of oak spice along with toasted cedar, vanilla bean, black cherry candy, and Mediterranean herbs. Full-bodied, with ample structure, it reveals notes of plum, mocha, and black truffle, building tannins that are firmly gripping, and warming sweet baking spice. I personally prefer the 2017 to this vintage from Caparzo. Allow another couple of years and drink 2024-2030.
