Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

Rated 94 – Husband and wife team René Barbier and Sara Pérez are the children of winemakers at two wineries that put Spain’s Priorat region on the map: Clos Mogador and Mas Martinet. The hot, dry region in northeast Spain is known for its unabashedly bold, tannic wines, but Barbier and Pérez wanted to showcase a different, lighter side of the region with their Venus la Universal project. Dido is a blend of local grapes including Garnatxa Negra, Macabeu, Ull de Llebre (Tempranillo), and Garnatxa Blanca. The beautiful Spanish wine region of Catalunya has a history of viticulture which stretches back for over a thousand years, and has been influenced by a wide range of people who moved through the region, and brought their wine making skills and expertise with them. The region itself is a sizeable one, covering an area of sixty thousand hectares, and within this space there resides over two hundred individual wineries, ranging from small, independent and traditional ones to the larger, mass production bodegas known around the world. The terroir of Catalunya is varied, and ranges from being dry and arid, to more lush and green in the wetter parts of the region which are closer to the coast. This variation in terroir results in a fantastic range of grape varietals being grown, and a wide range of wine styles are produced within Catalunya.

I didn't taste the 2022 Dido La Solució Rosa last year because it's a wine they tend to bottle later, and in this first year of heat and drought, it translated into a paler wine with a more austere expression, with contained ripeness and 13.5% alcohol. It's mostly Garnacha Tinta with some Garnacha Blanca and Garnacha Gris and the rest Macabeo, Tempranillo and Cariñena, all pressed directly and co-fermented. It's very tasty, more expressive than the nose, with a fine thread, fine tannins and a long, chalky finish.
