A highly expressive wine, the 2022 Tinto combines 83% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 6% Mazuelo, and 1% Garnacha from the Laserna-Laguardia parcels in Rioja Alavesa. Fine and extra-fine grain French oak barrels do the aging for 14 months. Showing the power of place in elegant tannins and full-bodied dark cherry fruit, it shows the influence of the nearby forest in pine resin and woody, brushy undertones. One of the winery’s flagships, it’s a tremendous achievement at higher production levels and will age 10-15 years.

The 2022 Tinto Villota is 83% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 6% Mazuelo and 1% Garnacha. This hails from vineyards on a curve of the Ebro River in Laserna, Rioja Alavesa. A rich garnet-red in hue, it presents cherry and black sour cherry notes with a mentholated flourish. Dry and broad in the mouth with a compact, fine texture, the active tannins are channeled by moderate freshness. The 2022 vintage brings structure to the fore and bottle aging will refine its overall expression.
