All Tempranillo, the 2018 Vina Pomal Reserva is a medium-bodied red aged 18 months in American oak and 18 months more in bottle. Smooth, supple tannins provide a rounded richness of red fruit and a hint of citrus, with light spice, anise, and woody undertones. It has the classic element of balsamic that floats between aromas of violet and vanilla. Drink now through 2030.

The 2018 Viña Pomal Reserva combines modern and more classical characteristics, showing ripe black fruit, sweet spices and smoke along with some developed notes of forest floor and dry leaves. It has contained ripeness, 14% alcohol and a polished texture after having spent 18 months in American oak barrels, 20% of them new. 350,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2021.
