California Wine, Napa Valley
About Behrens & Hitchcock Vineyard and Winery
For a long time owning a winery was just a dream, until the day Behrens & Hitchcock Winery found the piece of land that Behrens & Hitchcock Winery knew could be the home of a very special wine. We were driving up a peaceful, winding road in a small valley in northern California, 1,250 feet above the main valley floor and sheltered by stony, majestic hills. As Behrens & Hitchcock Winery gazed at the cloudless azure sky and the softly rolling hills laced with grapevines, it felt as though Behrens & Hitchcock Winery were in another world. Behrens & Hitchcock Winery knew this was where our dreams of winemaking were going to be made a reality.
Behrens & Hitchcock Winery Merlot Fortuna
Smooth and spicy, an elegant, understated style with well-focused flavors of spicy currant, raspberry and black cherry. Best from 2002 through 2010
Behrens & Hitchcock Winery Ode to Picasso
It reveals the winery's tell-tale aromas of blackberries, blueberries, and cassis, as well as terrific fruit intensity, a layered texture, and huge flavors. Although built like a fortress, it possesses glorious levels of fruit and plenty of power. Accessible enough to be drunk young, it will keep for 12-15+ years.
Behrens & Hitchcock Winery Kenefick Ranch
Behrens and Hitchcock's 1998 Kenefick Ranch masterful cabernet blend is a sensuous wine, nearly blackstrap in concentration, dripping with juicy blackberry and creamy cassis atop powerful but polished tannins. The bouquet is deeply perfumed, offering pure new oak mingling with seductive smoke. Supporting all is the sturdy structure necessary for years of cellar aging. Winemaker Les Behrens has crafted yet another blockbuster bottle with all the earmarks of a cult classic.
