While I had to regrettably omit visiting Alain de Laguiche at Chateau d’Arlay due to press of time, a recently tasted bottle of his 2005 Cotes du Jura Blanc – which can still be found on the market – confirms the positive impression of Robert Parker in Issue 199, where reviews can also be found on other recent releases from this veritable Jura institution. White peach and grilled almond are accompanied by bittersweet floral perfumes and a faint, pleasing impingement of smoky, toasty, nobly-fungal, yeasty flor.
