The 2019 Clos Marsalette Blanc shows a riper, more tropical style while still saying fresh, lively, and crisp. Terrific pineapple, tart peach, and floral notes all define the bouquet, and it's medium-bodied, beautifully balanced, has terrific purity, and a clean, lengthy finish.

The 2019 Clos Marsalette Blanc is super-distinctive. Fresh and taut on the palate, the 2019 offers up a whole range of tropical inflections that are so appealing. A hint of lime, jasmine and mint leaves a Riesling-like note on the creamy, inviting finish. This is such an attractive white.

As with the red this has trademark glamour and a creamy texture. It works extremely well, giving a white that has lift and freshness but also depth and a round mouthfeel that makes it easy to love. Drinking Window 2021 - 2028.

The Clos Marsalette 2019 Blanc has an expressive nose of honeyed white peaches, spiced pears and fresh grapefruit with touches of paraffin wax, nutmeg and baker's yeast. Medium-bodied, the palate has a nice suggestion of creaminess to the texture, with a zippy backbone and loads of fresh, crunchy stone fruit and spiced-apple flavors on the finish.

Distinctive, featuring a very floral and expressive profile marked by honeysuckle, Meyer lemon and Persian lime notes that breeze along, with flecks of Muscat-like spiciness throughout. The finish is underscored by a minerally accent. This isn't for everyone. Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Drink now through 2025. 630 cases made, 60 cases imported.

Varietal: White Bordeaux

The blended white wines of the Bordeaux region of France are famed worldwide for their complexity of flavor and superbly balanced characteristics. They are most commonly made from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle grapes, although French law dictates that Sauvignon Gris, Merlot Blanc, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Ondenc and Mauzac can all also be used in the production of these excellent wines. For centuries, the wineries of this region have been working and perfecting the skills necessarily to get the most flavor and positive characteristics of these grapes, and other wine producing countries in the world will no doubt continue to emulate these world leaders when it comes to selecting and blending said grape varietals.

Region: Bordeaux

Although most commonly associated with their superb blended red wines, the world-famous region of Bordeaux in France is responsible for a relatively wide array of wines, ranging from the sweet and viscous white wines of Sauternes, to the dry and acidic single variety white wines found all over the region. However, it is the red wines which regularly make the wine world's headlines, and have historically been regarded as the finest on earth. The secret to the region's success is the fact that the warm and humid climate, coupled with mineral rich clay and gravel based soils produces grapes of excellent quality. Wineries in this region have spent hundreds of years mastering the art of blending and oak aging in order to get the best results from each grape, and remain the envy of the world to this day.

Country: France

French winemakers are subjected to several laws and regulations regarding the wines they produce, and how they can be labeled and sold. Such procedures are designed to increase the overall quality of the country's produce, and also to ensure that wines made in each particular region or appellation are of a character and type which is representative of the area. Thankfully for consumers of wine world-wide, the French have a particularly high reputation to uphold, and seem to do so flawlessly. Every year, wineries from all over France produce millions upon millions of bottles of fine wine, making the most of their native grape varieties and the excellent terrain which covers most of the country. From the expensive and exquisite red wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy, to the white wines and cremants of central France, the French are dedicated to providing the world with wines of the highest quality and most distinctive character.
