Smooth and juicy, this fresh, polished red offers enticing aromas of rose, violet, forest berry and baking spice. On the delicious, succulent palate, refined tannins accompany ripe morello cherry, raspberry compote, nutmeg and cinnamon. It's already thoroughly enjoyable. Drink through 2031.

Rated 93 by Wine Spectator
Balsamic aromas of juniper, eucalyptus and sage introduce this intense red, which offers a beam of ripe cherry midpalate, swept up in the dusty tannins in the end. The sweet fruit returns, as this finds a nice equilibrium. Best from 2023 through 2042. 1,250 cases made, 250 cases imported.

This is so perfumed and beautiful with cherry, strawberry and rose aromas that follow through to a full body. Firm and racy with a very long finish. The aftertaste is like fresh mushrooms and dark fruit. Drink after 2023.
Winery
Notes of red berry fruits and violets with tight, but silky tannins. The finish of red fruit is long and persistent. Ideal with hearty stews and big red meat dishes. It's also delicious on its own, for after dinner.

Varietal: Nebbiolo

The name 'Nebbiolo' means 'fog' in Italian, and there is some debate as to the origin of this unusual name. However, many people claim it has something to do with the milky white dust which covers these dark, round grapes as they begin to reach maturity. The Nebbiolo grapes are most renowned for their inclusion in the finest wines of Italy, where they are allowed to age and mellow their strong tannins, producing wonderfully complex wines packed with dense, interesting flavors Most commonly, Nebbiolo wines hold beautiful tones of truffle, violet and prunes, and are highly aromatic and mellow on the palate. Their popularity and fame has helped them become established in several New World countries, where they continue to seduce and fascinate wine drinkers looking for an elegant, sophisticated wine which packs in plenty of wonderful flavors

Region: Piedmont

n Italy, the region most closely associated with excellent quality red wines and characterful sparkling wines is Piedmont. This alpine region is located in the north-west of the country, and features beautiful foothills of the impressive mountain range which forms the nearby border between Italy, France and Switzerland. Wineries in Piedmont work with the Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Barbera grapes which thrive in the warm, dry summers and cooler autumns, as well as the beautifully expressive Moscato grapes which are used for the sparkling Asti wines the region is famed for. For generations, these wineries have perfected the art of aging their red wines, and blending grape varietals to get the most out of each one, leading to a region known all over the world for the exceptional quality of its produce.

Country: Italy

Italy is recognised as being one of the finest wine producing countries in the world, and it isn't difficult to see why. With a vast amount of land across the country used primarily for vineyard cultivation and wine production, each region of Italy manages to produce a wide range of excellent quality wines, each representative of the region it is produced in. Any lover of Italian wines will be able to tell you of the variety the country produces, from the deliciously astringent and alpine-fresh wines of the northern borders, to the deliciously jammy and fruit-forward wines of the south and the Italian islands. Regions such as Barolo are frequently compared with Bordeaux and Burgundy in France, as their oak aged red wines have all the complexity and earthy, spicy excellence of some of the finest wines in the world, and the sparkling wines of Asti and elsewhere in Italy can easily challenge and often exceed the high standards put forward by Champagne. Thanks to excellent terrain and climatic conditions, Italy has long since proven itself a major player in the world of wines, and long may this dedication to quality and excellence continue.
