About Manzone Giovanni Estate

The GIOVANNI MANZONE ESTATE is located in Monforte d'Alba(Piedmont), an area famous for its great wines. The winery, located approximately 15 Km from Alba, 5 Km from Barolo, is a small family-run concern consisting of 8 hectares all planted with vineyards.Production is limited (40,000 bottles- 3,300 cases- per year are produced in average). All wine making is carried out by the family, in order to obtain natural and high quality wines. Their passion for their wines arises from respect for nature and from the care and dedication for our work. Their wines are neither clarified nor filtered and they are the true expression of these lands.

Monforte d'Alba, a village of 2,000 inhabitants within in the heart of the Langhe area in Piedmont. The town is set on a hill of over 500 meters above sea level and it overlooks the great plain of Cuneo. The beauty and the peace of these hills originate great wines that are a splendid match for the delicious traditional cooking of this area. Welcome to Monforte, where Barolo is the king of wines and Alba's white truffle is the prince of the table.

Their Wines

Rosserto is a speciality of the Manzone estate. The 100% ROSSESE BIANCO grape, an autochthonous varietal of the Langhe region, was saved from extinction in 1880 and kept in one of the family's old vineyards. Giovanni, after having saved the vines, has made this special white wine for about 30 years. Their production also includes a Langhe Nebbiolo flowery and fruity, 3 differents Cru of Barolo (Castelletto, Gramolere e Bricat-historical vineyard of the estate) and a Barolo Riserva only in the excellent vintages. They also produce a Barbera d'Alba fruity and very drinkable and a Barbera La Serra Superiore refined 16 months in oak barrels. The roots of the soil are the ones of Dolcetto: from its grapes we produce the Dolcetto d'Alba Le Ciliegie and Dolcetto La Serra.
