It offers classic Southern Rhône goodness in its red and black fruits as well as notes of leather, peppery herbs, and underbrush. Lots of savory and soy sauce character here. Good balance of richness and restrained structure on the full-bodied palate. Moderately dry, harmonious finish makes this good to drink now. Sustainable. Drink or hold.

With a blend in which Grenache and Syrah have pride of place, its complexity, opulence and delicate spicy and ripe fruit aromas, the Cuvée du Baron veritably embodies the distinctiveness of our terroir. Intense ruby red color with purple hues.Complex and fine nose: mineral toasted notes, black fruit jam, spices. The mouth is frank from the start and rises in power throughout the tasting. Lots of fat and coating in the middle of the mouth, then a more taut and chiseled finish. Notes of fruit brandy, blueberry, spices. The tannins still require a little aging to fully soften. Very nice persistence.

In southern France, one of the primary wine regions responsible for the production of a fine and varied range of wines is the Rhone Valley. Split into two large sub-regions, this expansive valley benefits from micro-climates which allow the wineries to grow a vast array of fine grape varietals. The northern region is the more limited one in regards to the amount of varietals grown, focusing predominantly on raising excellent quality Syrah, Marsanne, Roussane and Viognier vines for their distinctive and elegant range of wines.
