Decanter
Elegant, poised wine with pear and banana aromas, lovely stone fruit notes and a saline mineral edge. (Bronze) - DWWA 2023
Wine Advocate
The 2022 Assyrtiko Wild Ferment is unoaked and comes in at 13.2% alcohol. Fresh and clean, this is an understated Assyrtiko that perhaps could use a bit more in the mid-palate, but it still has some expressiveness and it hardly feels thin. In fact, it coats the palate rather nicely. Its fruity conclusion is enticing, while still being dry and serious. This is not an upscale Assyrtiko—nor priced like one—but it is graceful and appealing. Under screw cap, it should hold pretty well too.
Wine Spectator
A light- to medium-bodied version, with crisp acidity working in tandem with a creamy mouthfeel, revealing notes of crunchy green pear, melon rind, lemon thyme and minerally smoke and stone. Drink now. 4,000 cases made, 1,600 cases imported.
Winery
Crystal clear color with green highlights. The nose is generous with aromas of citrus, apples, mineral and saline notes. Excellent structure, crisp acidity, salinity and minerality. Long and complex finish.

Country: Greece

As one of the oldest wine producing countries in the world, Greece has millenia of experience and expertise when it comes to viticulture, and has developed a set of flavors and characteristics which are found nowhere else on earth. The ancient Greeks revered and deified wine, and were the first true innovators in the history of wine, adding everything from seawater to honey and spices in order to find exciting new taste combinations and aromas. Today, Greek wines are just as varied, although far more refined and sophisticated than their ancient counterparts. The practice of enhancing Greek wines with aromatic substances never left the country, though, as can be seen in the popular Retsina wines, which use pine resin to provide their unique taste and aroma combinations. There is far more to Greek wine than merely Retsina, however, and the vast variety on offer is a testament to the expertise of Greek wineries making the most of the wonderful climate, terrain and grape varietals they work with.
