A vibrant nose, effusing copious Mediterranean spices, thyme, peppercorn, ripe plums and cherries. Fresh and bright with a medium body and creamy tannins that dissipate with the red fruit. Dry and exuberant. Drink or hold.

COLOUR: Deep intense ruby red color. NOSE: On the nose the wine is both very intense and elegant with live black fruit aromas such as blackberries, blueberries and plums, with touches of minerality such as gunpowder. PALATE: Showing exceptional complexity and structure, while being supported by powerful tannins.

Whilst there remains plenty of debate over which is the 'correct' name for the Shiraz/Syrah grape varietal, nobody is in any doubt about the influence and popularity this grape has had over recent decades. For centuries, this varietal has been used in single variety and blended wines in the regions of France it is most closely associated with, yet the 20th century saw it become one of the definitive grape varietals of New World red wines, where its big, robust character and spicy, berry-rich flavors proved to be a hit with international audiences. Today, Shiraz/Syrah is said to be the seventh most widely planted grape varietal in the world, and is used for a remarkably wide variety of quality red wines – including still, sparkling and fortified varieties.

With a wide range of vines flourishing in the region, thanks to the many micro-climates the valley provides, wineries can make the most of their particular location and produce fully ripened grapes of exquisite flavour and character. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Carmenere grow very well all throughout the various areas within Valle Central, and the region is developing a serious reputation for excellence on the world stage.

They quickly discovered that the hot climate, sloping mountainsides and oceanic winds provided a perfect terroir for quality wines, and many of these original estates remain today in all their grandeur and beauty, still producing the wines which made the country famous.
