Greco’s inherently higher acidity benefits a warm, lower acid year such as this. Red apple husk, pink grapefruit, talc and lemon balm. The charge of acidity finds confluence with a rasp across the gums. The finish, strident, intense and impressively long. Good opening act. Drink now. ... More details

The nose is tart and crisp, with notes of citrus, green apple, tight leather and smooth stones from the riverbed. On the palate, white peach coaxes out the green apple's sweetness, before a toasty, nutty finish. Impressive balance at this price point. (Best Buy)
Winery
Color: Intense straw yellow. Bouquet: Offers fruity flavours of pear, apricot, pineapple and citrus. Palate: Smooth, elegant and structured, with good freshness and a great persistence that confirms and amplifies the olfactory sensations.

Region: Campania

Campania may well be Italy's oldest wine region, with a history which spans over three thousand years and has endured throughout the rising and falling of empires. Today, the region's wine industry is as strong as ever, and consistently producing excellent wines of character and distinction, thanks to the dedication the wineries of Campania have for quality over quantity, and the love they have for their traditions and time honored practices. Of course, the region is helped enormously by the ideal climatic conditions it receives on the west coast of Italy, and the fact that the soils of Campania could be amongst the finest on earth for viticulture. For thousands of years, Campania has been the beating heart of the Italian wine industry, and this is one thing which is unlikely to change any time soon.

Country: Italy

For several decades in the mid to late twentieth century, Italy's reputation for quality wines took a fairly serious blow. This was brought about partly due to lack of regulation in certain regions, and too much regulation in others. This led to several wineries in the beautiful and highly fertile region of Tuscany making the bold move to work outside of the law, which they saw as responsible for the drop in quality in Tuscan wines. They believed that they had the expertise and the generations of experience necessary with which to make truly excellent, world class wines, and set about doing just that. These 'Super Tuscans', as they came to be known, quickly inspired the rest of Italy to improve their produce, and now, Italian wine producers in the twenty-first century are widely recognised to be amongst the best in the world. Regulation and law began to change, and wine drinkers across the globe woke up to the outstanding wines coming out of Italy, which are continuing to improve and impress to this day.
