The grapes of Shoresh 2022 are sourced from small blocks of rocky soil from our estate grown Shoresh Vineyard. On this shallow and poor soil the vines strive for nutrition, which results in concentrated grapes with an array of flavors. This is a rich blend of Syrah (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), Petit Verdot (10%) and Merlot (10%) showing flavors of dark fruit and spices. The wine shows beautiful and harmonious texture. Shoresh 2022 was bottled after an aging period of 14 months in French oak barriques. The wine could be enjoyed now and will continue to improve in the bottle for many years to come. Shoresh 2022 is a result of a joint work with our consultant, Mr. Jean-Claude Berrouet, the preceding Technical Director of Chateau Pétrus.

Region: Judean Hills

The ancient hills and mountains of Israel have provided a dramatic backdrop to what would become major parts of modern civilization and culture itself, and as any lover of wine would know, they were also home to many of the world's most ancient vineyards. However, the wine industry of this region was often interrupted due to religious intolerance of alcohol, until the mid 19th century, when a decision was made to relaunch the Israeli wine industry. One of the major regions for Israeli wine from that day forth has been the Judean Hills, an ancient and beautiful set of hills which provide mineral rich soils for imported French varietals to thrive in. Today, the Judean Hills are home to many of the country's finest red and white wines, often made from Bordeaux varietals to exceedingly high levels of quality.

Country: Israel

Israel has long been a country associated with wines, with plenty of historical evidence pointing out the significance of wines in biblical times and most likely even before then. Of course, when the country was under Islamic rule, many of the vineyards were destroyed and wine production ceased completely, but today Israel enjoys a thriving wine industry and is frequently recognized as a producer of fine wines which have a growing global audience, helped by the fact that most wines of the country are made with kosher certification. Israel enjoys a Mediterranean climate, and has plenty of mineral rich soil on which to grow vines. There are several micro climates across the country, formed by the geographical features of the land, and wineries have had a long and successful relationship with the imported French grape varietals which flourish there.
