The 2005 Duemani (Cabernet Franc) is equally impressive. It reveals gorgeous, expressive varietal notes in its chocolate, wild herbs, dark cherries, licorice and sweet toasted oak. It is an intense, full-bodied wine, yet it offers superb harmony and well-integrated tannins to round out the finish. Duemani was fermented in oak vats and aged in French oak, 60% of which were new. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020. ... More details

There's beautiful fruit on the nose, with fresh flowers, blackberry and licorice. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. A wonderfully crafted wine. Not imported into the U.S. Best after 2010. 500 cases made.

Duemani is known for its high quality organic and biodynamic wines from Tuscany. This hearty expression of Cab Franc shows wonderful intensity with dark aromas of blackberry, black cherry, crushed pepper and polished river stone. The wine is firm and and focused with finely textured tannins.
Winery
A beautiful Cabernet Franc with plums, dark fruits, violet and rose petal character. Full body, dense and chewy with dusty texture from the ripe tannins. This has an energy and focus that keeps your attention. Seamless and impressively balanced.

Varietal: Cabernet Franc

Today, Cabernet Franc is one of the most widely planted grape varietals in the world, and thrives well in temperate climates and valley regions in many Old and New World countries. Its importance in wine history cannot be overstated – as one of the key ingredients for the magnificent Bordeaux and Bordeaux-style wines, it has helped shape the world of quality wines and raise the bar for vintners across the globe. The Cabernet Franc varietal lends its wonderful array of unusual, spicy and fruity aromas to blended wines, and yet can also carry itself very well in single variety bottles too. The bright red color of the fermented Cabernet Franc juices make this an elegant varietal, packed full of delightfully intense, rich flavors of currants, and perfumes of violets and tobacco.

Region: Tuscany

Tuscany has been producing fine wines for almost three thousand years, and as such is widely recognized as being one of the key Old World wine regions which have shaped the way we understand and enjoy quality wines throughout history. Interestingly, the region is typified by a unique soil type which is not particularly good for growing grapevines, but in Tuscany, the emphasis has always been on quality over quantity, and low yields with high levels of flavor and intensity are preferred, and have become a feature of the region's wine industry. The main grape varietals grown in Tuscany are Sangiovese for the distinctive, flavorful and complex red wines, and Vernaccia for the exquisite dry white wines, although the last couple of decades have seen more varietals grown and an increasing trend towards 'Bordeaux style' wines.

Country: Italy

Italy is recognised as being one of the finest wine producing countries in the world, and it isn't difficult to see why. With a vast amount of land across the country used primarily for vineyard cultivation and wine production, each region of Italy manages to produce a wide range of excellent quality wines, each representative of the region it is produced in. Any lover of Italian wines will be able to tell you of the variety the country produces, from the deliciously astringent and alpine-fresh wines of the northern borders, to the deliciously jammy and fruit-forward wines of the south and the Italian islands. Regions such as Barolo are frequently compared with Bordeaux and Burgundy in France, as their oak aged red wines have all the complexity and earthy, spicy excellence of some of the finest wines in the world, and the sparkling wines of Asti and elsewhere in Italy can easily challenge and often exceed the high standards put forward by Champagne. Thanks to excellent terrain and climatic conditions, Italy has long since proven itself a major player in the world of wines, and long may this dedication to quality and excellence continue.
