A blend of Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, with less than 20% Merlot. Vine age ranges from 5-55 years old. The grapes are harvested in 5-10 passes, and each harvest is fermented separately. Macerations last 5-6 days; fermented and aged in concrete vats. Bottled on March 1, 2021 and aged for additional months before release. 12,904 bottles made. Daniele has new vines and vineyards coming on board, which will eventually reduce the percentage of Merlot in this wine.; once that happens, it can qualify for the Bardolino Classico moniker. Soracuna is Veneto dialect for the Italian sopra la culla, or “above the cradle,” a phrase that means “to celebrate a birth.”

Varietal: Corvina Blend

The region of Veneto in Italy is home to the Corvina grape varietal, a much sought after and prized grape which is used in the production of several of Italy's finest red wines. Corvina by itself produces wines with a bright crimson color, light to medium in body, and holding lovely bright cherry flavors with a slightly bitter after taste. However, it is most enjoyed when blended with small quantities of other Italian wines, as this results in the famous and much loved wines of Amarone and Valpolicella – beautifully balanced, rounded and delicately aged wines which are some of the most popular and widely admired red wines of Italy. Corvina grapes have a naturally high level of acidity, and thick skins which contain little tannin, but which protect the grape from rot.

This was brought about partly due to lack of regulation in certain regions, and too much regulation in others. This led to several wineries in the beautiful and highly fertile region of Tuscany making the bold move to work outside of the law, which they saw as responsible for the drop in quality in Tuscan wines. They believed that they had the expertise and the generations of experience necessary with which to make truly excellent, world class wines, and set about doing just that. These 'Super Tuscans', as they came to be known, quickly inspired the rest of Italy to improve their produce, and now, Italian wine producers in the twenty-first century are widely recognised to be amongst the best in the world. Regulation and law began to change, and wine drinkers across the globe woke up to the outstanding wines coming out of Italy, which are continuing to improve and impress to this day.
