Deep, shimmering violet. A heady, extremely complex bouquet evokes ripe dark fruits, candied flowers, vanilla and exotic spices, and a smoky mineral flourish emerges as the wine opens with air. Deeply concentrated and sweet, offering energetic blueberry, cherry cola, vanilla and fruitcake flavors underscored by smoky mineral and spice flourishes. In a powerful style, but this is surprisingly elegant and finely detailed. Closes extremely long and smooth, with supple tannins framing lingering cherry-vanilla and floral notes. ... More details

This black-cherry-colored wine features a spicy nose of clove and anise with a back drop of cherry aromas. It is smooth on the palate, with flavors of black raspberry, Morello cherry, anise seed and buttered toffee. Brightness remains on the palate, overlaid by opulent tannins that fade into a lingering spicy finish.

Rated 91 by Wine Spectator
This dense red features a solid structure of firm tannins and balsamic acidity. Currant, cocoa, black olive and loamy earth flavors are slightly muted, but the finish is fresh, revealing floral and mineral notes. Best from 2022 through 2035. 660 cases made, 70 cases imported.
Winery
Red cherry color with purple hues. Ripe fruit aromas, vanilla notes. Suave and unctuous in the mouth. A strong and noble character. A truly authentic wine.

Varietal: Tempranillo

The wines made from the Tempranillo grape varietal have gone down in history as being some of the finest in the world, with the Spanish region of Riot being one of the most famed and respected examples of a quality red wine made with this grape. Elsewhere in the world, the Tempranillo grape has had plenty of success, and grows best in regions with a mixture of hot sunshine and cooling breezes. These grapes hold plenty of intense and interesting flavors, and are often said to hold many of the most sought after flavors to be found in a red wine. Leather, tobacco, plums and herbs are often noted in wines made with Tempranillo grapes, and the blended wines made with this varietal are often seen at the top of world rankings.

Region: Castilla Y Leon

Castilla y Leon, in the heart of Spain, is a fascinating wine region with plenty of history, tradition and character going into each and every bottle which is produced there. The expansive, dry and arid plateau of Castilla y Leon means that the grapevines which grow there have to work hard to reach the moisture below ground, resulting in grapes which express plenty of the terroir they grow in, and thus reveal lots of flavor, aromas and the character of the region itself. Despite the difficult conditions and the blazing heat of Castilla y Leon, plenty of grape varietals grow there. As such, there is a wide range of red and white wines associated with the area, and wineries have generations of experience and expertise in making the most of the fruits they cultivate.

Country: Spain

From the deep and intense Rioja wines, or the dry and refreshing Ruedas, from Tempranillos to Verdejos, the range and quality of Spanish wines is always going to impress and fascinate. With several thousand years of traditions and expertise leading the way, Spanish wineries are currently producing some of the most flavorful and interesting wines to come out of Europe, striving to overcome the reputation problems the country suffered in the mid to late twentieth century. Despite being one of the largest producers of wine in the world, with billions of bottles being filled each year, Spanish wine producers are more interested in quality over quantity than ever before. The results of this are some truly world class wines rivaling even the finest produce of France in regards to balance, character and flavor, gaining new fans and enthusiasts every day.
