The 2021 Pinot Noir Estate has layered aromas of cranberry, raspberry, potpourri, leather, orange peel and dried herbs. The light-bodied palate is silky and mouthwatering with a deep core of fragrant red fruit and a long, bitters-laced finish. It will benefit from 2-3+ years in bottle.
Winery
Native yeast fermentation occurs in 4 ton concrete open-top fermenters; stem inclusion is done in varying percentages each year depending on the health of fruit. After primary fermentation is complete, there is no settling of free run juice, which is barreled directly from the fermenter. All wines are aged in neutral to 30% new French oak barrels, and wines are racked the following summer. There are no further wine movements until assemblage prior to bottling, which happens after anywhere from 9 to 15 months in barrel.

Varietal: Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is one of the planet's most widely grown and enjoyed grape varietals, and thanks to the popularity of the key wines it is associated with – Burgundy and Champagne – it has successfully spread from its native home in France to much of the wine producing world. Pinot Noir means 'black pine' in French, and this refers to the extremely dark, inky color of the fruit, and the fact that it grows in conical bunches, resembling a large pine cone. It has long been revered for its wide range of refreshing, summery flavors, and the fact that it produces red wines of a beautiful garnet color and light body.
