92-94 Barrel Sample. As one of the two second wines from this organic estate, Cabernet Sauvignon dominates this wine. It has structured black currant fruits as well as a beautiful pure line of acidity. The structure, while there, is open and integrated, meaning the wine will age well over the medium-term.

The 2019 Le Petit Haut Lafitte Blanc sings of freshly squeezed lemons, lime leaves, grapefruit juice and underripe honeydew melon with touches of spiced pears and marzipan. Medium to full-bodied, it has a killer creamy texture and wonderful freshness lifting the vibrant citrus and pear flavors to a long finish.

The 2019 Le Petit Haut Lafitte Blanc is fresh, bright and wonderfully nuanced. Citrus and floral notes are amplified by the 20% Sémillon, which adds texture and creaminess. More than anything else, the 2019 offers tons of immediacy and simply impeccable balance.

What a lovely 2nd wine, flexing with fleshy stone fruits and plenty of mouth-watering minerality. A very good stepping stone up to the main white but this stands on its own also. Drinking Window 2021 - 2032.

An impressive white from a great château, the 2019 Le Petit Haut Lafitte Blanc has bright citrus, mandarin orange, and honeyed flower notes in a medium-bodied, rounded, supple, textured style that's hard to resist. Mostly Sauvignon with a small amount of Semillon, it has some chalky mineral notes on the palate, and this up-front, textured white is going to shine on the dinner table. It will keep for 3-4 years.

Ripe and silky, with alluring warmed cassis and mulled plum flavors and a red licorice accent. The finish, which is carried by lightly singed cedar and grilled savory notes, lets the fruit have the upper hand. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Drink now through 2031. 6,000 cases made, 1,500 cases imported.

Varietal: White Bordeaux

Of all the blended white wines in the world, it is those which come out of the Bordeaux region of France which have an unrivaled reputation for excellence of character and sublime, complex flavors This is mainly due to the expertise of the established wineries of the region, who have for centuries been carefully and skilfully blended selected grape varietals in order to balance their wines and bring out each grape's best features. There are nine grape varietals allowed by French law for the inclusion in Bordeaux white blended wines, and these are Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Muscadelle, Sauvignon Gris, Merlot Blanc, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Ondenc and Mauzac. However, the vast majority of white wines from this region are made primarily from Sauvignon Blanc grapes, with a little Sémillon or Muscadelle blended into their fermenting juices.

Region: Bordeaux

There are few wine regions in the world with a reputation as glowing and well established as that of the Bordeaux, in France. Situated mainly around the Dordogne and Gironde rivers, Bordeaux makes the most of its humid climate and rich, clay and gravel based soils to grow some of the finest examples of red and white grape varietals on earth. Wineries in this region have been in operation for hundreds of years, and have carefully developed the expertise required for the production of carefully balanced and utterly delicious blended red and white wines, alongside some exceptional single variety bottles. Many of the chateaux found in Bordeaux have become household names, due to their prestige and the excellence of their products, grown with love and dedication by heritage wineries in this beautiful and special region.

Country: France

France is renowned across the globe for its quality wines and the careful expertise which goes into making them, but what is truly remarkable about this relatively small country is the vast range of wines it produces in such huge amounts each year. Not only are the finest red wines in the world said to come from the beautiful regions of Bordeaux and Burgundy, but elsewhere in the country we find the Champagne region, and areas such as the Rhone Valley and the Loire, whose white wines consistently receive awards and accolades by the plenty. This range is a result of the great variety of climatic conditions and terrain found in France, coupled with generations of wine makers working within single appellations. Their knowledge of specific terroirs and grape varieties has, over time, perfected the production of wines within their region, and the end results continue to impress the world to this day.
