The 2022 Henry's Seven leads with a vibrant core of raspberry seed and bramble, five spice and blood plum skin. In the mouth, the fruit is supple and spicy and expounds a brilliant clarity of tannin. Ductile, whippy and delicious, it has raspberry leaf tea and rose petals to close. There are also notes of pink peppercorns, as per usual. This is a gorgeous wine. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. ... More details

A southern Rhone blend, infused with a dollop of viognier. Scents of purple pastille, raspberry bon-bon, rose water and eucalyptus, quintessentially Australian. The tannins, finely wrought. The oak, embedded nicely. This is a large-framed wine of impressive freshness, if not a slightly drying finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

The 2022 Henry's Seven is a fruit salad blend of Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro and Viognier offering up heady dark cherry, white pepper and apricot aromas against a subtle meaty backdrop. Beautifully vibrant, it delivers juicy, fleshy fruit flavors with an attractive chalky tannic frame. The length and balance are very impressive over a seamless finish. It's a crowd-pleaser but with indisputable quality.

Deep garnet with violet hues. A striking bouquet of ripe plum, raspberry, blueberry and notes of blackberry intertwine with savoury notes of cracked black pepper, flowering herbs, fresh tarragon and bay leaf. Dark plum, berry compote, rhubarb and raspberry flavours lead to a peppery mid-palate of vibrant red berry acidity and fine-grained tannins, finishing with lingering flavours of mulberry and black pepper.

Region: Barossa

The Barossa Valley in Australia is one of the New World's most interesting wine regions, having been established in the late 19th century by German settlers. The region benefits enormously from the relatively temperate climate, which ranges from being hot on the lower parts of the valley, to quite cool as the altitude increases on the valley slopes. Barossa Valley produces mostly Shiraz wines, and has become one of the key Australian regions for this distinctive grape varietal which has gone on to be a major grape for the Australian wine industry. Despite suffering from a poor reputation in the mid 20th century, by the 1980s, plenty of unique and forward-thinking wineries set up in Barossa to take advantage of its excellent climate, and set about producing the excellent red and white wines which the region is famed for today.

Country: Australia

Whilst every Australian state has some level of wine production, it is in South Australia and on the island of Tasmania where the finest wines are made to the highest quantities. Here, the scorching Australian sun is a little tamer, and the heat is tempered by brisk oceanic winds, making the climate of these regions ideal for vineyard cultivation. The Tamar Valley on Tasmania has been making waves internationally in recent years, as both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape varietals are thriving there and resulting in hugely flavorful wines, which are at once distinctly Australian, yet remain unique and interesting enough to surprise and impress. Elsewhere in the country, the Syrah grape (known locally as Shiraz) reigns supreme, as the long, hot summers allow these grapes to ripen fully and lend their intensely fruit-forward character to the ruby red Australian wines, which have such international appeal.
