This is a serious wine with a lighter brighter side. Its wood aging adds spice to the ripe red fruits and brings out the concentration and intensity. It is, in its way, an unexpected side of Provence rosé, emphasizing richness and complexity. But it all comes together: a fine wine that, after a year of aging, is ready to drink. ... More details

Amazing aromas of lilac flowers and roses. White peaches and fresh pears. Full body, tight and compacted with amazing depth and finesse. The phenolic tension and texture suggest a rosé that will improve for many years ahead. This is a great wine. Drink now. (Suckling)

Light brilliant orange-pink. Intense, expansive aromas of fresh red berries, orange, peach and vanilla, accompanied by smoky mineral and floral overtones. Sappy, concentrated and smoky on the palate, offering densely packed raspberry, tangerine and buttered toast flavors and a repeating vanilla note. Blind, I'd have guessed that this was a serious white Burgundy. Shows outstanding energy and mineral lift on the very long, supple finish, which echoes the floral and smoke notes.

A rosé of a different color, so to speak, featuring a noticeably creamy edge around a core of perfumy peach, apricot and mango notes. Stays lithe and elegant through the finish, with hints of bergamot and wet stone. Grenache and Rolle. Drink now. 1,500 cases made.
Winery
Aroma: Concentrated aromas and flavors of dried citrus, peaches and passion fruit give this rosé a powerful nose. Palate: A bright acidity with glazed pear and pineapple filling the mid palate. Garrus’ toasty notes are reminiscent of a vintage Champagne without the bubbles. Finish: A long, vertical texture with a creamy finish that features rich, spicy notes. Powerful and elegant.

Region: Provence

Provence is a very special wine region, located in the south of France where the Mediterranean sea meets the beautiful green and rolling landscapes of the mainland. For centuries, the region has been deeply associated with its unique cuisine and characterful wines, which stretch back through history an impressive amount of time. Indeed, Provence can claim to be one of the original French wine regions from the classical age, and its wine culture has been influenced and inspired by a stunning list of different peoples and cultures, who have settled in the stunning green valleys of the region over three thousand years. Today, Provence is most famous for its stunning rosé wines, which have been the favorites of European aristocracy for centuries. However, white and red wines are also made in Provence, and are equally fine and just as capable of expressing this most wonderful of French wine regions.

Country: France

French winemakers are subjected to several laws and regulations regarding the wines they produce, and how they can be labeled and sold. Such procedures are designed to increase the overall quality of the country's produce, and also to ensure that wines made in each particular region or appellation are of a character and type which is representative of the area. Thankfully for consumers of wine world-wide, the French have a particularly high reputation to uphold, and seem to do so flawlessly. Every year, wineries from all over France produce millions upon millions of bottles of fine wine, making the most of their native grape varieties and the excellent terrain which covers most of the country. From the expensive and exquisite red wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy, to the white wines and cremants of central France, the French are dedicated to providing the world with wines of the highest quality and most distinctive character.
