The NV 10 Year Old Tawny Port comes in at 110 grams per liter of residual sugar. It was bottled in 2014 with a bar top cork. This has fine intensity of flavor and good weight, ending with a powerful pop on the finish. Showing more concentration than the Fonseca, also reviewed, but not its finesse or elegance, it is a nicely constructed Tawny with fine weight and a lingering finish. An ebullient style, with slightly warm cherry compote and fruitcake notes forming the core, picking up light sandalwood and hazelnut accents through the finish. The fruit is very engaging. Drink now. 1,800 cases made, 500 cases imported.
Winery
Attractive tawny colour with amber rim. Complex nose full of mellow spicy aromas and hints of walnut, butterscotch and fine oak wood, against a background of rich jammy fruit. Beautifully smooth and round on the palate which is full of ripe figgy flavours.

Porto has a history which stretches back centuries, and involves empires, riches, and the discovery of new countries and civilisations. Today, the city and the region which surrounds it is perhaps best known for wine, and in particular, the tawny colored, aromatic and delicious Port wines which have been wildly popular since the 18th century. The region Porto is situated in, the Douro wine region of Portugal, is one of the oldest protected wine regions in the world, and is widely considered to be one of the finest places in Europe for viticulture. Indeed, the area around Porto supports an astonishing number of native and imported grape varietals, although by far the most common grapes found flourishing on the valley sides are Tinta Barroca, Tinta Cão, Tempranillo, Touriga Francesa, and Touriga Nacional – all grapes most commonly used for Port wine production.
