Super saturated from the color to the flavors and finish, this wine shows how concentrated and layered a malbec can be. The color is dark to the rim, the aromas boast blueberries, dark cherries and creme de cassis, and the flavors layer black fruit over spearmint, cocoa and graphite nuances. Full-bodied, firmly tannic and balanced for many more years of improvement. Best from 2028.
The purple Malbec variety grapes which now grow all over the Old and New Worlds had their origins in France, where they are one of the few grape varieties allowed to be used in the highly esteemed blended wines of Bordeaux. However, it is perhaps the New World Malbec wines which have attracted the most attention in recent years, as they thrive in hot southern climates in ways they cannot in their native country, where the damp conditions leave them highly vulnerable to rot. Malbec grapes are renowned for their high tannin content, resulting in full-bodied red wines packed with ripe, plummy flavors and held in their characteristically dark, garnet colored liquid. In many countries, Malbec is still used primarily as a varietal for blending, as it adds a great level of richness and density to other, lighter and thinner varietals. However, single variety Malbec wines have been greatly on the rise in recent years, with some fantastic results and big, juicy flavors marking them out as a great wine for matching with a wide range of foods.

The 2022 Malbec Bramare Valle De Uco is a darker purple color and has a much more mineral and structured profile, taking things to a new level with real aging potential. It reveals notes of black plum, graphite, violets, and spice. Full-bodied, it has a noble structure, with ripe tannins and a long spine of acidity to propel it through its long finish. Drink 2026-2050.

Opening with an expressive, distinctly floral bouquet with blue- and black-fruited undertones, the 2022 Bramare Valle de Uco Malbec beautifully combines a compact yet dense texture with buoyant, effortless, floating lift. It concludes with a long, layered and tensile finish underpinned by a mineral-tinged core. This is a linear, focused counterpoint to the comparatively soft Bramare Luján de Cuyo Malbec bottling.

The 2022 Malbec Bramare Valle de Uco blends grapes from a selection of vineyards across the Uco Valley. Twenty percent was aged for up to 18 months in oak barrels, while the remaining 80% was kept in tank. This purple-hued wine features notes of wet stone, black fruit, mint and blueberry, complemented by a fine layer of light oak. It is broad, smooth and concentrated on the palate, with a juicy mouthfeel that showcases wood nuances and a long, fruity finish. This lovely vintage balances concentration with freshness.

There's a decent amount of oak, but this red wears it well, offering a chocolaty cast offset by fresh Santa Rosa plum and raspberry flavors with a slight graphite bite. Finishes with savory and mocha notes around plush tannins. Drink now through 2034. 13,500 cases made.
