Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. Here, in the home of the world's finest wines, the type and quality of grapes used is of utmost importance, and the legendary wineries which work on the banks of the Gironde river have mastered the careful art of juice blending to find the perfect balance for their produce. Whilst there are six 'official' Bordeaux grapes, the two key varietals for almost every fine Bordeaux wine are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and with good reason. Blackcurrants, vanilla and milk chocolate aromas on the nose. Punchy and up front with ripe black berries and cherries alongside a powerful core of fine tannins and racy acidity. I like the style, it's concentrated and sun-kissed but tempered by the acidity with a dusting of toastiness on the finish. Lively and bold, fun and easy to like.

There was no second wine here in 2022, a reflection of the strength of the vintage I guess. The blend is 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, and the élevage was in 30% new oak for at least 14 months. The aromatics are delightful, with powdered chalk, fresh and pure, calling to mind some examples of the 2016 vintage, with dried berries and a touch of dark chocolate. The palate is savoury with supple and relaxed fruit, medium-bodied substance, and although the tannins have a fine presence beneath the fruit it is really in the finish that they make themselves known. A silky and stylish expression of Le Crock here, but with all the substance and structure of the vintage, concluding in a long finish wrapped up in tannins. Certainly one of the most convincing examples of Le Crock I have tasted. Tasted twice. The alcohol on the label is 14%.

A blend of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2022 Le Crock reveals a delicate, elegant bouquet of dark wild berries, spices, cherries, flowers and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, dense and layered, it's enrobing with a delicate, elegantly structured core of fruit enhanced by velvety tannins and a fresh, menthol-inflected finish. This is a strong performance.

The 2022 Le Crock has a very elegant bouquet with pure blackcurrant, violet and cassis scents, quite Margaux-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins. Quite a voluminous Bordeaux that lacquers the mouth, though it just misses a little refinement at the moment. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.
