More toasty at this stage than La Landonne, the 2023 Côte-Rôtie La Côte Blonde unwinds in the glass with aromas of spice, dark and blue berries, pepper, iris and violet, the oak still perceptible in its youth. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and structured, it is seamless yet powerful, built around a deep, concentrated core of fruit framed by abundant, velvety tannins, concluding with an expansive, ethereal finish. Entirely vinified with whole clusters, its stem-inflected profile will require time in bottle to fully integrate and reveal its finest nuances.

The 2023 touches the medium to full-bodied palate with elevated flavor concentration, effortlessly balanced by uplifting acidity that brings verve and beguiling tension. The finish is extremely tight and linear, carrying through to a long, elegant close. This is outstanding.
