This has an aromatic nose, with ripe lemons and pears, fresh honey and saffron. Medium- to full-bodied with a round, creamy texture. Vivid acidity balances the medium-sweet fruitiness, leading to a sleek and juicy finish. Drink now.

Coming from the White Bluffs region, the 2021 Riesling Sagemoor Vineyard is terrific and offers gorgeous varietal notes of minty herbs, lychee, crushed stone, and exotic citrus. Nicely balanced, medium-bodied, and balanced, it brings bright acidity, good sweetness of fruit, and a great finish. It's going to be incredibly versatile on the dinner table and is an impeccably made Riesling that will evolve for 10-12 years.

Fermented in stainless steel, the 2021 Riesling is fresh and crisp, with notes of lanolin wax, green apple and white peach with fresh citrus blossoms. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is fresh and focused on the palate, with about eight grams per liter of residual sugar giving it a kiss of sweetness. Lively acidity frames the finish with succulent citrus and fresh pomaceous flavors that will remain food-friendly for years to come. Bravo!
Winery
The White Bluffs AVA experienced cooler-than-average growing conditions for much of the season, allowing for our Riesling grapes to be picked at very moderate sugar levels, yet with full flavor. Bosc pear, lychee, Meyer lemon and wet stone are showcased initially on the nose. A touch of residual sugar is just enough to balance out the bustling acidity and create a more full-bodied mouthfeel, full of honeysuckle, dried apricot and jasmine. There is a freshness and liveliness to this wine that makes it very easy to enjoy on its own but will pair easily with a variety of seafood dishes.

Varietal: Riesling

Riesling grapes are very rarely blended with others in the development of wines, and for good reason. These pale grapes which originated in the cool Rhine Valley of Germany are notable for their 'transparency' of flavor, which allows the characteristics of their terroir to shine through in wonderful ways. The result of this is a wine which carries a wide range of interesting flavors quite unlike those found in other white wines, finished off with the distinctively floral perfume Riesling supplies so well. Many wineries in Germany and elsewhere tend to harvest their Riesling grapes very late – often as late as January – in order to make the most of their natural sweetness. Other methods, such as encouraging the noble rot fungus, help the Riesling grape varietal present some truly unique and exciting flavors in the glass, and the variety of wines this varietal can produce mean it is one of the finest and most interesting available anywhere.

Washington state currently holds host to over six hundred wineries, each producing wines using the many classic grape varietals which flourish in the arid, dry region to the east of the Cascade mountains. Since the Washington wine industry began in the beginning of the 19th century, great efforts have been made to irrigate the semi-desert which makes up much of the state, and the results have been enormously successful in regards to creating an environment in which a wide range of grapevines can flourish. There are certain fine wineries in the wetter western region of Washington, although these make up less than one percent of the region's overall wine production levels. Recent decades have seen red wines becoming increasingly popular in the United States, and many of those produced in Washington are considered to be amongst the country's finest produce.
