A touch reductive and more marked by its élevage than the other wines in the range, the 2018 Moulin-à-Vent Le Clos du Moulin-à-Vent unwinds in the glass with aromas of smoked meats, plums and forest floor, followed by a medium to full-bodied, velvety but incisive palate that's succulent and seamless. While it needs time to come together, if offers plenty of grounds for optimism.

A reductive nose at first with aromas of red fruit, flowers and ash. It’s medium-bodied with tight, sleek tannins. Juicy and fruity with pretty floral character. Drink now.
Winery
Beautiful, dark ruby red in color with purple reflections. Fine and elegant nose with delicate, fresh notes of blackberry and black cherry with a hint of spice. Powerful and ample on the palate with spicy notes (pepper, licorice), slightly roasted and black fruit flavors (black cherry.) Rich tannins, spicy and mouth-watering persistent finish.

Region: Burgundy

The beautiful region of Burgundy in France is famously home to some of the most exquisite red wines to be found anywhere on earth, and is most commonly associated with the silky, elegant and flavorful Pinot Noir varietal wines which are commonly produced there. However, the superb and mineral rich soils fed by the Rhone river, and the long hot summers and mild autumns of the region produce a wide variety of fine grapes, and as such, Burgundy produces plenty of different wines which are equally as good as the produce the region is famed for. The region of Burgundy itself has a wine-making history which stretches back at least two thousand years, and as such, it comes as no surprise that the wineries which fill the dozens of controlled appellations of the region rely heavily on traditional methods and techniques when it comes to producing their famous wines.

Country: France

Year in, year out, France enjoys its prestigious reputation as the producer of the finest wines in the world. With a wine making history which spans several thousand years and owes its expertise to the Romans, it comes as little surprise that this most highly esteemed of the Old World wine countries continues to impress and enchant both novices and experts to this day. Despite the rise in quality of wines from neighboring European countries, not to mention the New World, the French wine industry continues to boom, with up to eight billion bottles being produced in recent years. However, France prides itself on always putting quality before quantity, and the wide range in fine produce is a testament to the dedication and knowledge of the wineries across the country. Indeed, from rich and complex reds to light and aromatic white wines, French wines are as varied and interesting as they are enjoyable to drink, making this country a firm favorite for wine lovers across the globe.
