The NV Champagne Rosé de Saignée is deeply hued, almost a pale ruby. It is ripe with kirsch and red currant aromas, as well as rhubarb, hibiscus, and herbs. The palate has more structure, although it is dry and doesn’t quite have the red wine application you might think from seeing it. Drink now or over the next 6-8 years. ... More details

Rose hip, raspberry and strawberry nose. The palate is sweetly seductive; a web of attractive come-hither fruit. Lengthy finish. (Bronze) - DWWA 2020
Winery
The Rosé de Saignée is a rosé produced by maceration of black grapes; from 24 to 36 hours, the grape juice flows by gravity, without pressing and without filtration; in contact with the skin of the grapes, the juice obtains a ruby ??color and tannic aromas. Monovarietal, parcel-based and vintage, the Rosé de Saignée is only produced during the best years in Champagne, because the bleeding process requires an excellent sanitary state of the grapes, especially the Meuniers!

Varietal: Champagne Blend

There are few wine regions of the world with as much influence or fame as that of Champagne in France. The sparkling wines from this special area have long been associated with excellence and magnificent flavors, and much of their success has been down to the careful blending of fine grape varietals in order to achieve spectacular results. Most commonly, Champagne wines use both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varietal grapes in more or less equal measures, often boosted by a small quantity of Pinot Meunier for extra bite. The Chardonnay varietal grapes offer their acidity and flavor to the bottle, and help with the dryness associated with quality in this type of wine. The Pinot Noir, on the other hand, gives strength to the wine, and gives Champagne its distinctive 'length' of character.

Region: Champagne

The beautiful rolling hillsides of the Champagne region of France have, for hundreds of years, been producing many of the world's most famous wines. The sparkling white wines to come out of Champagne's prestigious wineries have conquered the world, and are drank in celebration across the globe. The vast majority of the region is under vine, and grows predominantly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varietals, which are usually blended together by master wine-makers in order to make their recognizable and widely loved produce. The north-easterly region of Champagne has a relatively cool climate, and quite a lot of rainfall, making it far from ideal for ripening grapes. However, the presence of heavily forested areas in the region helps maintain a balanced temperature, and the generations of expertise the wineries hold clearly produces excellent results in spite of the climatic problems.

Country: France

France is renowned across the globe for its quality wines and the careful expertise which goes into making them, but what is truly remarkable about this relatively small country is the vast range of wines it produces in such huge amounts each year. Not only are the finest red wines in the world said to come from the beautiful regions of Bordeaux and Burgundy, but elsewhere in the country we find the Champagne region, and areas such as the Rhone Valley and the Loire, whose white wines consistently receive awards and accolades by the plenty. This range is a result of the great variety of climatic conditions and terrain found in France, coupled with generations of wine makers working within single appellations. Their knowledge of specific terroirs and grape varieties has, over time, perfected the production of wines within their region, and the end results continue to impress the world to this day.
