This sunset-hued vintage rosé demonstrates just how far England has come on the winemaking front. And what the country can achieve in a warm, favorable vintage like 2018. Both complex and highly crowd-pleasing, this opens with ripe raspberry, red apple, cream and spice with floral undertones. There's a lovely depth of fruit on the tangy palate, with bright acidity and a pearl necklace of bubbles flowing seamlessly through to the finish. Mouthwatering ripe red fruit aromas and flavours of wild strawberries, raspberries and red fruits. Aromas of fig and forest floor add complexity. Creamy and toasty flavours on the palate, with a fine mousse. Clean red fruit finish. (Silver) - DWWA 2022

Delicate pink in appearance, aromas of cherry, wild strawberry and cranberry combine with more developed brioche and fresh pastry notes. The palate balances soft summer pudding fruits, a vibrant citrus streak and a long and rounded finish.

Varietal: Champagne Blend

Whilst Champagne sparkling wines are most commonly made with a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grape varietals, there are actually seven fine grape varietals allowed by French wine law for inclusion in the wines of this region. These include Arbanne, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and and Petit Meslier alongside the others, although these four are being used less and less in the modern age. Champagnes are normally blended wines, although the popularity of single variety 'blanc de blanc' Champagnes made solely with Chardonnay grapes, and 'blanc de noir' wines made only with Pinot Noir varietal grapes are becoming more and more popular. The blending process found in most Champagnes aims to take the finest points of each grape varietal and bring them together to produce spectacular, strong yet balanced results in the bottle.
