California Wine, Alexander Valley
About Jordan Vineyard Wines
When the Jordan Winery was founded in the early 70s, fine wine in California was in its infancy. The natural place to look for a model wine estate was in Europe. Our primary goal was, of course, to produce memorable wines, but secondarily to emulate the European tradition of doing so in beautiful surroundings. Architecture, landscaping, gardens, hospitality, and cuisine contribute to a special sense of place. The wines and the place give all of us at Jordan the rewarding feeling that our work is bringing pleasure to the many people who drink the wine and visit the estate.
Jordan Winery 2001 Chardonnay
In keeping with our classic Old-World style of Chardonnay, the 2001 vintage possesses a citrus and mineral bouquet that reveals notes of pear, green apple, melon, honey and lightly toasted oak. On the palate the wine is lively and complex with flavors that include pear, fresh apple, limestone and butterscotch balanced with toasty oak. It has a long, expansive finish that ends with just the right amount of acidity to make this the perfect complement to many types of cuisine.
Jordan Winery 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon
The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that possesses layers of cassis, blackberry, coffee, cedar and vanilla. Rich, intense and complex, the 1999 vintage will be remembered as one of the more age worthy wines we have produced.
