The 2021 Le Jeu de Vert is from the lieu-dit Gruenspiel in Bergheim (on the border of Ribeauvillé) on Triassic keuper and marl soils. It is a field blend of Riesling, Gewurztraminer and some Pinot Gris. An adjoining parcel of Pinot Noir is pressed, and the white juice is added to the skin maceration of the field blend in tank. It aged in foudres for one year, bottled unfiltered and unsulfured. The color is a coppery pink. It has both the rose and spice notes of Gewurztraminer. The palate is rounder, richer and has an almost urgent but pleasant bitterness, displaying notes of black cherry skin macerated in Kirsch.
