The NV Brut Expression is a beautiful wine. A fine line of acidity runs through the Expression, lending notable brightness and cut throughout. Orchard fruit, spice, mint and dried flowers are all beautifully delineated in a Champagne that impresses for its transparency and cut. I loved it. This release is a blend of 2015 and 2014. Dosage is 5 grams per liter. Disgorged: December, 2019. ... More details

An elegant Champagne, with a buoyant, airy quality to the fine mousse, carried by focused, well-meshed flavors of spiced plum, mandarin orange peel, pickled ginger and pastry. Finely cut and harmonious. Disgorged July 2016. Drink now through 2022. 350 cases imported.

Lots of apple and brioche aromas and flavors. Full body. Creamy and layered. Very fruity and crafted. Decadent and flavorful in the end. Drink now.

Disgorged in July 2019, the latest release of Geoffroy’s NV Brut Expression delivers an inviting bouquet of pear, yellow apples, fresh pastry and hints of honeycomb. Medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, it’s a chiseled, precise wine with a charming core of fruit, bright acids and a pinpoint mousse, concluding with a delicately chalky finish. It will show even better after another year or two on cork.

This wine’s ripe fruit sweetness fills its firm acidity with scents of apples and pears. It’s a gentle, easy pleasure, tight and tense enough that it will benefit from a year or two in the cellar.

Varietal: Champagne Blend

The careful blending of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varietal grapes has long been the secret to the success of the famous sparkling wines of the Champagne region. The wines of this region have gone down in history as the finest example of France's sparkling produce, and the methods of processing the grapes in this region have been imitated in almost every wine producing country in the world. There are actually seven different grape varietals allowed to be included in a Champagne sparkling wine, although grape varietals such as Pinot Blanc, Arbanne and Pinot Gris are used less and less commonly in its production. Whilst the Chardonnay varietal grapes offer their distinctive biscuit flavor and wonderful astringency, it is the Pinot Noir grapes (most commonly used for producing beautifully light red wines) which give the Champagne wines their length and backbone.

Region: Champagne

The beautiful north-easterly region of Champagne in France is famous around the world for the production of the exquisite sparkling white wines which characterize the region. All over the globe, bottles of wine from Champagne are celebrated and enjoyed, and their fame has come about through generations of expertise and experimentation, and a dedication to quality which raises the bar for producers of sparkling wines everywhere. The vast majority of grapes grown in this special region are of the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Petit Meunier varietals, the principle grapes used for the production of Champagne sparkling white wines. The region itself is far cooler than many other important French wine regions, but this hasn't stopped the dozens of wineries in Champagne from making their distinctive and much-loved produce.

Country: France

Year in, year out, France enjoys its prestigious reputation as the producer of the finest wines in the world. With a wine making history which spans several thousand years and owes its expertise to the Romans, it comes as little surprise that this most highly esteemed of the Old World wine countries continues to impress and enchant both novices and experts to this day. Despite the rise in quality of wines from neighboring European countries, not to mention the New World, the French wine industry continues to boom, with up to eight billion bottles being produced in recent years. However, France prides itself on always putting quality before quantity, and the wide range in fine produce is a testament to the dedication and knowledge of the wineries across the country. Indeed, from rich and complex reds to light and aromatic white wines, French wines are as varied and interesting as they are enjoyable to drink, making this country a firm favorite for wine lovers across the globe.
