The 2020 A Torre was produced with Alvarinho from the Quinta da Torre property where they selected the very best grapes from granitic soils with a sandy-loam texture, from a selection of older vineyard plots with low to medium clay content. It fermented in used 400-liter barrels, where the wine matured with the full lees for nine months. It has the complex nose of great Alvarinho after some years in bottle— mellow, faintly balsamic and medicinal, complex, clean and elegant without any oxidation. It comes in at 12.5% alcohol, with a pH of 3.38 and six grams of acidity. It’s ready but should continue developing in bottle. 4,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2021.
