The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers 1er Cru is quite reduced on the nose, yellow fruit commingling with dried honey and acacia. It needs a little more minéralité. The palate is well balanced with a viscous entry, ripe and showy, with impressive depth and grip and a slightly honeyed, spicy finish that lingers in the mouth. Fine, albeit one for earlier drinking than others. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
