Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. Whilst there are six 'official' Bordeaux grapes, the two key varietals for almost every fine Bordeaux wine are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and with good reason. I proffered a bottle of 2011 Figeac and feared it would be too young, but it was just on the right side of drinkability. Featuring intense black fruit on the nose, with black truffle and pencil lead notes and hints of incense, this Saint-Émilion blossoms in the glass. The palate is beautifully defined with impressive concentration, fine acidity and perhaps just a light patina of new oak on the finish that needs a couple more years to fully assimilate. Should I have waited longer to bring this bottle? Maybe, but I did not feel remotely guilty.

Made from 35% Cabernet Franc, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 30% Merlot, the 2011 Figeac is deep garnet colored. It offers up alluring scents of blackcurrant pastilles, black raspberries, and boysenberry preserves with suggestions of menthol, tobacco leaf, and crushed rocks. Medium-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid structure of grainy tannins with oodles of freshness and lots of earthy layers, finishing on a lingering ferrous note.

The 2011 Château Figeac is drinking nicely, with plenty of cassis, black cherry, and blackberry fruits intermixed with notions of graphite, sappy herbs, and earth. With medium-bodied richness and depth, solid mid-palate concentration, and ripe yet present tannins, it's youthful and drinking nicely, with another 15 years of longevity ahead of it.
