A strong effort that features 40% Cabernet France, the 2020 La Tour Figeac derives from vineyards bordering Figeac where the latter’s vein of clay soils peters out. Offering up aromas of dark berries, orange rind, peonies and vine smoke, it’s medium to full-bodied, with powdery tannins and a sapid, succulent core of fruit. It will appeal to readers who gravitate toward Cabernet Franc.
