The 2020 Mangot is a heady, full-throttle wine, just as it was en primeur. Jammy dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, sweet oak and licorice are front and center. There’s not much subtlety here, but that does not seem to be the goal. More importantly, though, the 2020 is not as ponderously heavy as some recent editions.
