Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The beautifully and unforgettable French region of Cote De Beaune has been revered throughout the centuries, and recognized as one of the key producer's of the world's finest white wines. The region is highly respected as an excellent producer of Chardonnay wines, and the Chardonnay grapes which grow there, on the southern slopes of the Cote d'Or, are packed full of the unique and powerful characteristics of this very special terroir. Interestingly, Cote De Beaune produces more red wine than white wine, despite its white wines being so famous. 90-93 Here too there is enough reduction present to prevent an examination of the nose but I did note that floral elements are evident. There is outstanding volume and good phenolic maturity to the round, velvety and overtly powerful middle weight plus flavors that possess a firm core of tannins on the mouth coating, dusty and impressively persistent finish. This is a serious Corton where patience will also be required.

(90 - 92) The 2014 Corton Les Marechaudes Grand Cru has a detailed nose of brambly red fruit, briary, pressed white flowers and limestone - really captivating aromatics that I hope will be as nuanced and expressive once in bottle. The palate is fresh and vibrant with refined tannin. There is a gentle but persistent grip here, linear at first but opening slightly towards the citrus finish. I would have just liked a little more persistence and flesh, but this remains a very intellectual Corton Marechaudes that may warrant a higher score once in bottle.

Firm, slightly earthy nose with red fruits lurking. Medium-bodied, raspberry fruit palate with ample sweetness backed by firm tannins. Has substance but no heaviness; a bit austere now but will improve.

Winery Notes
Located just below Corton Bressandes, the vineyards have east-southeast exposure; Claude explained that here, you begin to see some similarities to the soil you find in the Cote de Nuits. The soil is red as it is very ferruginous, and you find limestone rocks throughout the vineyard. Chandon de Briailles has two-fifths of a hectare here, planted in 1974 and 1979. The domaine has been working the parcel by horse since 2012 and avoids using tractors in the vineyard to avoid compacting the soil. Each vine is cared for by hand. It's a fantastic Grand Cru site. Wine from here tends to be more open than Bressandes or Clos du Roi in its youth— perfect for those who prefer young wines— yet still has finesse and a velvety texture with fine tannins.
