Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.

Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino Vigna Soccorso comes from a single vineyard at over 500 meters elevation that was planted on sandy and clay-based soils with albarello-trellised vines 25 years ago. In the glass, it pours a dark ruby/red color and opens on the nose with more aromas of candied cherries, lavender, mossy earth, and sappy herbs. Medium to full-bodied, it is compact and brooding, with ripe tannins and a grounding, mineral-rich texture. It requires a bit more patience, but it has a lot of character and should improve over time. Drink 2026-2046.
The name of this grape, meaning 'blood of Jove' conjures up evocative images of long dead civilizations, and gives the Sangiovese varietal a sense of the holy, the sacred, the special. Indeed, this particular type of Italian grape has been cultivated and processed for thousands of years, and is said to be the original favorite grape varietal of the Romans, and the Etruscans before them. Throughout history, vintners have continued to plant this varietal, and they continue to produce wonderful wines to this day. The long bunches of very dark, round fruit are treasured by fine wineries in Italy and a few other places around the world, and when young, these grapes are lively – full of strawberry flavors and a little spiciness. However, it is when they are aged in oak that they take on some truly special flavors and aromas, as seen in some of the finest wines of the Old World.

Winery Notes
• Entirely from the storied Soccorso vineyard next to eponymous medieval church La Madonna del Soccorso.
• Enzo Tiezzi, eminence gris of Montalcino completely restored and renovated this vineyard starting in 1999.
• Know to be the location of production for the very first wines from Montalcino labeled Brunello.
• The label is a throwback to the original wines produced from this parcel in the 1800s which won awards in Marseilles and Bordeaux at the turn of the 20th century.
• 530 meters above sea level, among the highest vineyards in the appellation.
• Sandstone, Volcanic soils with silt, sand and clay.
• The vines are “alberello” or bush-trained.
• Spontaneous fermentation and maceration on the skins without temperature control for four weeks in upright, open-top oak fermenters.
• The wine is aged just under four years in the traditional Slavonian-oak casks form 10-40 hectoliters.
