Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The wine is bright and expressive with time in the glass, but it takes a while to open fully. The tannins are firm but integrated. It should be interesting to retaste this Barolo after the 10-year mark.
The Nebbiolo grape varietal is widely understood to be the fruit responsible for Italy's finest aged wines. However, its popularity and reliability as a grape which gives out outstanding flavors and aromas has led it to be planted in many countries around the world, with much success. These purple grapes are distinguishable by the fact that they take on a milky dust as they begin to reach maturity, leading many to claim that this is the reason for their unusual name, which means 'fog' in Italian. Nebbiolo grapes produce wines which have a wide range of beautiful and fascinating flavors, the most common of which are rich, dark and complex, such as violet, truffle, tobacco and prunes. They are generally aged for many years to balance out their characteristics, as their natural tannin levels tend to be very high.

There are few countries in the world with a viticultural history as long or as illustrious as that claimed by Italy. Piedmont
Situated in the north-western part of Italy, the region of Piedmont is known worldwide and is highly respected for the quality of the wines produced there. Many of the most successful sub-regions in Piedmont produce many of the world's finest red wines, such as those made from the excellent Nebbiolo grape varietal in areas such as Barolo and Barbaresco. However, the historic wineries which typify this region use a relatively wide variety of grapes, including Dolcetto and Barbera for their red wines, which are typically aged and have a delightful velvety character. Piedmont isn't all about beautifully complex red wines, though, as it is also famed for high quality, elegant sparkling wines, notably the Asti wines made with the white Moscato grape. The region benefits from a range of terroirs which are often well expressed in the sparkling wines, and a wonderfully consistent climate ideal for vineyard cultivation.

The 2018 Barolo Gramolere is the most engaging of the 2018 Barolos here. It shows a level of translucence that is missing from the other wines, most likely because of recent racking. Dark spice, menthol, plum and gravel lend quite a bit of nuance to this ample, expansive Barolo. The 2018 is beautifully done and also quite promising,

A wine fermented in stainless steel for 25 to 30 days then aged in large French oak vessels for 36 months. Bright garnet in the glass, its restrained rhubarb root, cinnamon candy and red currant aromas and flavours shine. The crunchy palate is full bodied with precise, polished tannins, dusty yet ripe, balanced by crisp acidity and displaying persistency and great quality to the finish, which is lengthened by a bitter note.

Gramolere is a cru of the municipality of Monforte d'Alba located between the Gavarini and the Bussia.
Structure and character are considered synonymous with Barolo di Monforte. Alongside these characteristics, the wine from this particular hill expresses delicate hints of aromatic herbs that blend with the classic and complex notes of leather and licorice.
