Initially quite powerful and vinous, the NV Brut Rose Grand Cru turns more delicate and feminine with time in the glass. The broad shoulders, minerality and power of Ay are vivid and beautifully expressive in the glass. Pure layers of intense minerality become utterly vivid on the delineated, polished finish. This release is approximately 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay with a dollop of still Pinot Noir vinified on the skins and aged in barrel. The base vintage is 2008, which gives the wine much of its energy, plus the addition of reserve wines from 2007 and 2006. This is Lot #: L3-09. Disgorged April 2012. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.
